Music, it is said, is a universal language. With that in mind, here are several albums that deserve your consideration. Vocals are not in English; there are also some mostly instrumental recordings.

Yungchen Lhamo and Ahtoh Batagov, Tayatha (Cantaloupe). Devotional, meditative and haunting, Tayatha by the exquisite-voiced Tibetan singer Lhamo and Russian classical pianist Batagov is a balm for the ears and spirit. Batagov is a minimalist player, supporting and illuminating Lhamo’s expressive, heartfelt vocals. The sometimes stark soundscape has elements of jazz, devotional, folk and classical, which adds depth to tracks such as “Good Times Will Come” and “Flying Dakini.” “Medicine Buddha” presents the mantra of healing in a somber, involving stillness.  10/06/13 >> go there
