The 15th Annual World Music Festival Chicago is currently taking place at various venues throughout the city until September 22. Presented by the City of Chicago and produced by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, this city-wide festival features more than 70 international performances that are free to the public.

Among the festival highlights are five concerts in Millennium Park, the all-night RagaMala: A Celebration of Indian Classical Music at the Chicago Cultural Center and the Festival au Desert - Caravan for Peace, a group of exiled musicians from Mali touring the United States.

Included in the lineup is a concert of Asian traditional music from Indian violin master L. Subramanian, Pakistani qawwali exponents Qawal Najmuddin Saifuddin & Brothers, and the Persian-Azeri classical music duo of percussionist Pejman Hadadi and kamancha player Imamyar Hasanov at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 20 at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park on 201 E. Randolph Street.

Qawal Najmuddin Saifuddin & Brothers will also play at 7:15 p.m.on Sunday, September 22, in Preston Bradley Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center on 78 E .Washington Street. The location also features the Brock McGuire Band at 5:15 p.m. and Baba Ken Okulolo & The Nigerian Brothers at 2:30 p.m. while upstairs in the Claudia Cassidy Theater, Lulacruza performs at 4 p.m., followed by DakhaBrakha at 5:30 p.m. and Christine Salem at 7:30 p.m.

Also that day, on the first floor of the Cultural Center, guests can enjoy the music of the Paulinho Garcia at 2 p.m., Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic at 3:15 p.m., and Janusz Prusinowski Trio at 4:30 p.m.
