More About Sonia M'Barek
|
She produced the first time to the public by the age of 9 years, and revealed to the large TV public by the age of 12 years, with the Song "Ahkili aliha ya baba", duo withthe composer singer Adnéne Chaouchi.
Graduated from the national conservatory of music in Tunis (1977-1986), she sang forsome musicals theatre ("Asker Ellil", "Eté 61", "Taht Essour", "Didon"), films sound tracks (“the dance of fire”, “Abulkacem Echebbi”).
She worked with the Tunisian lute players Ali Sriti and Anouar Brahem presenting more than thirty concerts of classical Arabian music "Tarab" (1993-1994) leading to the publication of a CD "Tarab”.
She animates several conferences, workshops and master class of singing on the Arabic music: France, Belgium, Switzerland, Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan and Spain...
Chair of the national festival of the Tunisian music since 2005.
Sonia M'barek adopts a process of aperture to various styles and expressions, not only in exploring the Arabic musical space but also, in trying various occidental and Mediterranean repertories. |
