Latina, CD Review >>
Mujeres of Latin America unite! Putumayo World Music's Women of Latin America brings together some of the most soulful and fervent female voices of our paises in a collection that transcends borders and genres. Notables include Afro-Peruvian Susana Baca's rendition of "Caras lindas" (the popular 1970s salsa song originally performed by Puerto Rico's Ismael Rivera) and Mexican American Lila Down's haunting ballad "Icnocuicatl" ("Orphanage Song"), sung in the native Mexican language of Nahuatl. 11/09/04
