Belize-born Andy Palacio has helped lead the Garifuna culture, a mix of African and Central American cultures on the Caribbean coast, to a more global profile. In 2001, UNESCO declared the "Language, Dance and Music of the Garifuna" a multinational masterpiece. All of which is to say, his work is quite good.
