California-based instrumental duo Wahid presents Road Poem, an expressive album showcasing their ability to balance for Eastern Mediterranean musical traditions, including Turkish classical music, with modern improvisational flair. The oud (Middle Eastern lute) and rhythmic, gliding percussion combine in the nimble complexity of these rapturous pieces. Road Poem is music to be savored while driving, working, or engaged purely in listening pleasure. Highly recommended. The tracks are "Alexander's Regrets" (6:22), "Looking for Paradhisi" (6:52), "Protoleia" (5:08), "Inside Silence" (6:34), "Indra Reclines" (9:23), "Steal the Bride" (6:13), and "The Outcast" (6:10). 09/13/12 >> go there
