Norman Famous' Reviews, CD Review >>
Now, this is interesting.
Leah Callahan's debut CD, "Sleepers"is a collection of odd and intruiging songs that are much more than the sum of their influences which include cabaret, folk, bossa-nova and tin-pan -alley pop.
Callahan's playful and literate songs are perfectly complimented by collaborator Shaun Wolf Morris' off-kilter arrangements and instrumentation. Her voice, at once impish and sultry, suits the material perfectly.
This is a truly unique effort that must be heard to be appreciated. Exotic and a little strange, "Sleepers" defies catagorization and comparison (in a good way). I like it. You will, too, if you like this kind of stuff like I do.
I encourage, nay, insist upon, a visit to her webpage.
