Legendary vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, it was reported yesterday.

The group was nominated in the categories of Best Traditional World Music Album and Best Surround Sound Album.

The winners will be announced at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles early in February.

For more than 30 years, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has married the complex rhythms and harmonies of African traditional music to the sounds of Western music.

The group have recorded over 40 albums, selling over six million records. They already have nine Grammy nominations under their belt - their first album released in the United States, Shaka Zulu, won them an award in 1987.
