Twenty years after their global introduction via Paul Simon's "Graceland," South Africa's sublime a cappella troupe Ladysmith Black Mambazo revisits some of that set's material - and other classics - on "Long Walk To Freedom" (Telarc). The new treatments are bolstered with guest appearances: Sarah McLachlan joins on the haunting "Homeless," while Melissa Etheridge and Joe McBride drive the delightful "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes."

"Mbule," the traditional Zulu version of "Wimoweh," boasts an assist by Taj Mahal, while Emmylou Harris lends a gospel/country link to the harmonizers' version of "Amazing Grace." Other participants include Natalie Merchant, Zap Mama, Hugh Masekela and Lucky Dube. (Available in conventional and SACD surround versions.) A-
