Two great taste that taste great together: Radiohead and reggae
Four years ago, a coalition of enterprising reggae producers and performers with the awkwardly repetitive name Easy Star All-Stars proposed to re create Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon as a dub album. Thanks to innovative arrangements and attention to detail, Dub Side of the Moon was actually pretty cool. Now, the All-Stars have tackled Radiohead's OK Computer, and the result is again impressive. Robust horns replace the driving guitars on "Paranoid Android" (and "Jah" replaces "God" in the lyrics), while patois-inflected Rasta sits in for the android on "Fitter Happier." The arrangements and instrumentation are so thoughtfully considered that it's hard to believe the liner notes' insistence that "no samples from OK Computer (or anywhere else) were used in the recordingofthisalbum."
