More About Hadar Moaz

Hadar Maoz, a multi-talented and inspiring performer, electrifies audiences with amusical journey into the world of ancient traditions and an oriental soul groove.

Currently living in Israel near Tel Aviv, Hadar’s cultural roots began in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The Bukharian tradition of Central Asia has existed for over 2,500 years. Growing up Hadar learned devotional singing - a style passed through many generations of her family in Bukhara – and was influenced by the ancient oriental styles, scales, singing and music that are based upon the sacred book of Zohar (the heart of mysticism and Judaism’s sacred “Kabbalah”). According to ancient belief, listening to Kabbalah spiritual songs has a positive effect and brings good fortune to the listener.

Hadar plays many instruments including the Tar, Saz, Dayereh, Goblet drum and bass guitar. Her dancing is inspired by the oriental styles of Central and Eastern Asia. She sings in Bukharian and ancient Hebrew as well as a bit of English.

Hadar toured internationally with Habrera-Hativeet, one of Israel’s most original and unique group of musicians. Now fronting her own band, Hadar brings her very own unique musical perspective to audiences. Her live shows showcase her mastery of traditional styles, spiced with her contemporary interpretations and energetic persona. Her band will consist of either three or four musicians, featuring keyboard and guitar, oud, and percussion.
