Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Concert Pick >>
One of the city’s longest-running outdoor performing arts festivals—30 years and counting—returns with a summer of music, dance, word and film to the Prospect Park Bandshell. From up-and-coming ballet companies to renowned choreographers, from silent films paired with live performances to full-scale theater productions, from Talib Kweli to the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Celebrate Brooklyn! runs until mid-August.
All events are free with a $3 suggested donation, except for Benefit Concerts, which start at $30 and go fast — especially when cult favorites like MGMT take the stage. Upcoming free performances include Yugoslavian rock star Goran Bregovic and the Williamsburg-based acrobatic company STREB. Benefit performers include TV on the Radio and Animal Collective.
