- A Victorian Afternoon and Late Night Scavenger Hunt, Dalnavert Museum, 61 Carlton St., Sunday, 12-4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight. Open house at Sir Hugh John Macdonald’s former residence featuring tours and croquet with a scavenger hunt at night.
- Wordplay with the Manitoba Writers’ Guild, Artspace, 218-100 Arthur St., Saturday, 1-4 a.m. Add to an ongoing story, make a custom notebook, pull a poem out of a band and more word fun.
- MTC Warehouse Tour, 140 Rupert Ave., Sunday 1-4 p.m. Self-guided tours of the Tom Hendry Theatre.
- Nuit Blanche at the WAG, Winnipeg Art Gallery, 300 Memorial Blvd., Saturday and Sunday, 6 p.m.-6 a.m. All-night party featuring live bands, exhibition openings, films, Jolene Baillie dance work, flash mob, video games and more.
- Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers Variety Show, Rachel Brown Theatre, Crocus Building, Saturday, 7:30-11 p.m. Dance, music and poetry.
- Art Tours of Manitoba Hydro Place, Manitoba Hydro building, Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tours of the new Hydro building and the art within. Advance registration required.

- Dance Downtown, 380 Graham Ave., Sunday 1-4 p.m. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet throws block party with live performances, lectures, creative movement classes for children and open house.
- The Culture of Knitting and Crochet, Ram Wools, 989 Portage Ave., Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Showcase of local fibre artists, info about history of knitting and crochet and advice about your projects.
- Big Animation Station, The Forks, Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Animation workshop with opportunity to try your hand at stop-motion animation.
- Art / Sound project with Pixel, Gas Station Theatre, Saturday and Sunday, 8 p.m.-1 a.m. Project exploring improvisation music inspired by colours and projected imagery by artists known as Pixel.
- DIY DJ — Community Radio Open House, CKUW, University of Winnipeg, Room 4CM11, Friday, 4-8 p.m. The public is invited to play their favourite music and tour the campus/community station. Advance registration required.

- Graphic design and screen printing, Jumbo Show Posters, 419 Graham Ave., Unit D, Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Demonstration of techniques used to design and create concert posters and T-shirts.
- Mike’s Bloody Saturday film première, City Hall courtyard, 510 Main St., Saturday 7-8 p.m. Danny Schur (Strike!) shows his new documentary about the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike.

- Engaging Connections: Exhibition at Buhler Gallery, St. Boniface Hospital, Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., Friday, 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The first public art gallery to open in a Canadian hospital shows off new exhibition by three Manitoba artists.
- Stained Glass and Fused Glass Basics, Prairie Stained Glass, 587 Sargent Ave., Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free glass-cutting demonstrations and hands on workshops in techniques used to make stained glass.
- Introduction to Bellydance, Au Set Bellydance Emporium, 1045 St James St., Unit N, Friday and Saturday, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Friday, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Zenobia shows off basic steps and simple choreography for people of all ages. Bring a scarf.
- The Burn Crew, Cre8ery Gallery & Studio, corner of William Avenue and Adelaide Street, Friday, 7-11 p.m. Exhibition of wood-fired clay works as part of an international exchange project.
- Madonny Exhibit, Ogniwo Polish Museum, 1417 Main St., Friday to Sunday. Madonny — Polish for Madonnas— is an interpretation of the Virgin Mary through photo manipulation.
- Carne Viva, Estudio Luna, 220 McDermot Ave., Saturday 8-11 p.m. Food-focused art exhibit by Alejadro Moras. There are several activities taking place at the artist-run gallery over the course of the weekend.
- Aboriginal Music Week’s Songs & Square Dancing, The Forks, Saturday 2-4 p.m. A preview of music scheduled for this year’s Aboriginal Music Week in November.
- Cyborg Cinema, Creswin Media Panel. 201 Portage Ave., Saturday, 9-10 p.m. Outdoor screening of performance art collaboration by Wafaa Bilal and Andrew Milne as they literally get attached to machines.

- Ladies of the’ 80s Sing-along, Cinematheque, 100 Arthur St., Saturday 9-10:30 p.m. Mass karaoke with a 1980s theme with lyrics to music by artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Tiffany, Bananarama and Madonna displayed on movie screen.
- Guy Maddin’s Hauntings, Platform Gallery, 100 Arthur St., Saturday, 11 p.m.-midnight. Closing party of Guy Maddin’s Hauntings film with performance by surf noir band This Hisses.
- An Afternoon in the Folk Exchange, Folk Exchange, 103-211 Bannatyne Ave., Saturday, 1- 5 p.m. Festival photo exhibit — The Festival Campground at Night — and live music by Demetra Penner, Sweet Alibi and Zoppa.
- Storytelling Day at Central Park, Central Park, Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Local storytellers and community organizations tell stories dealing with universal subject matter.
