The Beat, CD Review >>
“Tuku” is still one of the kings of Zimbabwean music, and here’s more evidence for that, a very fine set recorded at his own arts center in Zimbabwe with a great homegrown band that knows how to roll out the rhythms behind Tuku’s searching vocals. The title translates as “No Foot, No Footprint” and here is a philosophical exploration of what impacts we can leave in life, set to a stirring soundtrack. A winner through and through from one of the living treasures of African music.
