Gangbe Brass Band
Hailing from Benin, Africa, this group of musicians epitomizes the unlikely convergence of cultures often found in African music. Mixing European brass band sounds Benin was colonized by the French in the late 1800s with traditional voodoo ritual chants and rhythms, the 10-member Ganjbé Brass Band also sings in several languages indigenous to Benin.
