Geomixes Is Great Stuff

Earlier this morning, Kaushik sent an email letting us know that his second remix of Karsh Kale's "Manifest" is featured in National Geographic's "GeoRemixes" project. That indeed is good news for our pal (formerly known as Brown Sounds) has been working hard for years on remixing and coming up with some of the most avant garde stuff.

Geomixes features 13 artists from around the world who are getting put through the remixer. The album has work by Nitin Sawhney, Bombay Dub Orchestra, and Karsh Kale. Artists whose original tracks have been given the remix treatment include Antibalas, Nortec Collective, Los Amigos Invisibles, Ojos de Brujo and others.

Bombay Dub Orchestra: "Compassion" (Earth Mix)
Ojos de Brujos: "Feedback" ( Nitin Sawhney Remix)
Nortec Collective: "Tengo La Voz" (Karsh Kale Remix)
Karsh Kale: "Manifest" (Kaushik Ambient Remix)

The collection is a pretty rocking, and it is available as a digital download (not free) from the National Geographic website. I hope there is an iTunes release coming because this is one album I truly want to buy, but I just don't want to sign up for yet another music store.
