It's all about percussion for the Global Drum Project, a four-member, all-star group set to perform at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Grand Theater.

The Global Drum Project brings together the Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart and three percussion specialists: Indian tabla master Zakir Hussain, Latin conga legend Giovanni Hidalgo and "talking-drum" ace Sikiru Adepoju.

The group's first album, "Planet Drum," catapulted them into the world spotlight. The album, released in 1991, won the first-ever Grammy for world music, and sat at No. 1 on the world music chart for 26 weeks.

In 2007, the Global Drum Project release its self-titled album, and has since been touring across the United States in cities as big as Chicago and New York and as small as Davis, Calif., and River Falls.

Tickets in all price ranges still are available. The prices are $35, $39, $49 and $55. For more information or to order tickets, call 842-0988.
