The human rights-themed “Struggle” name-checks Kuti and maintains the late Nigerian icon’s commitment to political consciousness and heavy, funky beats on standout tracks “Weigh Your Blessings” (featuring members of Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars) and “No Condition is Permanent” (with rapper Head-Roc), while “Upendo” floats on skittering rhythms and uplifting harmonies. A surprising collection worth seeking out.
