Do Your Ears Travel? Do Your Ears Travel?

Retail Promotion Program Linking World Music Customers and Labels with the Best Independently-Owner CD Retailers

“Do Your Ears Travel?” is a world music retail promotions program that we are launching in March 2003. As you know, one of the biggest difficulties facing a label today is getting titles placed prominently in a saturated marketplace. The purpose of our program is to get CD titles positioned well at independent retailers that have proven themselves in selling world music.

Our program covers several bases in terms of marketing strategies for reaching the people’s ears: placement in listening stations and/or special positioning in 30 stores in key interest regions nationwide; co-op advertisements in Global Rhythm Magazine, Rootsworld.com, Worldmusicportal.com; a handful of local newspaper ads, to help boost traffic to the participating retailers; and, we will ensure that several other important independent retailers will receive promotional copies of the program titles.

We are current soliciting labels for participation in May 2003. The program will vary slightly from the March program. Please contact music@rockpaperscissors.biz to reserve slots.

In the month of March, program titles will be featured with listening stations or special positioning (end-caps or eye-level) and in some cases with sale pricing in the following 30 stores:
