-by Robert Jones
Festival International has always been known for its incredible blend of Cajun, Creole and international music, and Saturday was truly a musical wonder in the Hub City.
Under perfect outdoor weather, clear skies and lots of warmth and Louisiana spring-time sunshine, bands from all over the world began at 8 a.m. and played into the late hours of the evening. As Vieux Farka Toure’ from the West African nation of Mali performed on the open Scene Fais Do Do stage on Jefferson Street early in the afternoon, hundreds of people gathered to enjoy the unique blend of music.
Festival-goers danced to the unique sound, which incorporated a blend of native African and international music. 04/29/07 >> go there
