Asbury Park Press, Concert Preview >>
Saw Doctors at the Stone Pony Saturday Night
By: Jean Mikle
The first time I saw the Saw Doctors was many years ago at The Saint in Asbury Park, packed in a small room with a sold-out house of sweaty, shouting fans, almost all of them singing along.
Since then I’ve seen the Irish lads perform all over the Shore, from the old Tradewinds, to Joey Harrison’s Surf Club, to the Pollak Theatre at Monmouth U. Everywhere they go they draw crowds of enthusiastic, dedicated fans. Their concerts are really just plain fun.
Tomorrow night the fun-loving Irishmen visit the Stone Pony for their annual summer appearance on the Shore. Expect a great night of audience singalongs and just plain fun rock n’roll. The Saw Doctors love New Jersey and particularly Asbury Park, so it should be a boisterous performance.
Tickets are $26.50 in advance and $30 at the door. Opening for the Saw Doctors will be local hero Arlan Feiles and the Broken Hearted. Doors are at 7 p.m. and show time is 7:30 p.m.
