On Thursday, February 10 at 8 p.m., music lovers will take a musical journey that will take them from the sandy banks of the Niger River to the deltas of the mighty Mississippi. Mali to Memphis features African musician Habib Koite with Bamada and special guest blues artist Guy Davis.
Koite is a young musician who has been hailed as “the African Clapton” for his searing electric blues guitar playing. His music is a wonderful mixture of the ancient traditions of his Mali home and modern American blues. Guy Davis, a member of the new generation of country blues artists, will open the show with his inimitable brand of storytelling and Delta-inspired blues.
