Ah yeah. The funk era did strike on the island nation of Cuba. Irakere is here to prove that the '70's impact was not lost among the lovely island natives. The first Cubans to have a disco hit, Irakere bonded traditional Cuban horns and percussion with funky retro bass and disco beats. But they also wrote plenty of strong Cuban folk rock songs too.
