Tango Jointz
Palermo Nuevo Escondida Music
From the steamy Buenos Aires barrio of Palermo, the namesake of Tango Jointz's debut album, comes a sunny, latin-rhythm-fuelled, electro/tango/jazz convergence. There's a nod to jazz greats Miles David and Chet Baker. But more than anything, Palermo's sexy tango resembles Gotan Project, but on the milder side, like Gotan with the gloves on. Producer Claus Zundel's project reworks tango classics including Libertango and Vuelve Al Sur into some sultry cosmopolitan down-tempo direction, equally suited to techno-lounge fans or the tango dance hall.
