Boston Post-Gazette, CD Review >>
Cuban born Alex Cuba offers up a tasty menu that boasts soul and jazz leanings, with a blend of Cuban flavor. This past Wednesday (5/7), Alex performed at Cambridge’s Regatta Bar to a very satisfied audience. His album is full of smooth rhythms that set a tranquil mood. Opening with the romantic “Infinite Love,” the rhythmic “On The Way,” plus the sad “Lament,” the smooth “Yes And No,” the spirited album title cut, and fill the front with “Tu Boca Lo Quita.” Cuba continues the international flavor with “Blushing,” the catchy “What A Bongo,” the festive “Religious Celebration,” and the biting “Vampire.” Cuba winds down his album to the tune of “Butterfly,” and the music, and the search for love ends in “Euphoria.” Alexis Puentes (a/k/a Alex Cuba) penned all the songs for his outstanding album! 05/09/08 >> go there
