Let the good times roll!
You'll have no difficulty finding the soundtrack to your summer this yearForty years after Expo 67 - when Montrealers had over 6,000 free concerts to choose from during the summer of love (yes, 6,000!) - the city still hosts hundreds of free concerts each summer, notably at the city's outdoor jazz, reggae and African music festivals. These festivals also have ticketed shows. Highlights at this summer's Montreal International Jazz Festival include Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo (June 28 at the Spectrum); Bob Dylan and opening act, Texas bluesman (and brother of Stevie Ray) Jimmie Vaughan (July 4 at PdA); barefoot Cape Verdean singer Cesaria Evora (July 2 at PdA); Van Morrison (July 3 at PdA); hometown hero Patrick Watson (July 5 at Métropolis); Branford Marsalis (July 6 at PdA); Chaka Khan (July 2 at Métropolis); and blues guitar legend Buddy Guy (July 7-8 at Métropolis). 06/07/07 >> go there
