NORTH TEXAS IRISH FESTIVAL
Perhaps a little of the Irish luck will rub off on you at this celebration in its 30th year. This year’s theme centers around harps and fiddles, two instruments that typify Irish culture, so expect to hear lots of both. The musical line-up includes fiddlers Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, harpist Patrick Ball, Heartstrings, fiddler Eileen Ivers, Goitse and Seamus Kennedy. There’ll also be dance performances and workshops, storytellers, equestrian shows, archery, blacksmithing, a Scottish village spotlighting local clans, a children’s area and a new Culinary Stage with demos by local chefs. Animal-rescue groups will be onsite to match pets with potential owners.
March 2 from 6 to 11 p.m., March 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and March 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Fair Park, 3809 E. Grand Ave., Dallas. $10-$30. Short-leashed dogs are welcome; a $1 donation to the SPCA is requested per dog. 972-943-4616. ntif.org. 03/01/12
