Introducing the Band Members

Antje Henkel (clarinet, saxophon). When you need someone to rely on …

Carsten Wegener (double-bass, jews harp, saw, vocals). The dreamer. Collects instruments from all over the world, preferably ones, no one has ever heard of.

Christopher Blenkinsop (ukulele, irish bouzouki, vocals). Musical Mastermind and the guy who wakes up with new ideas about what mountain to climb today. He might forget the next day which one it was though.

Daniel Friedrichs (violin). The ever-playing clown (he actually studied pantomime with Marcel Marceau).

Dirk Trageser (guitar, santur, vocals). The dark sider. The loner. The man with his collar turned up. The cartoon and internet artist. From the Hesse mountains. Switched from his local hess dialect to “understandable” German when he was 14.

Elmar Gutmann (trumpet). The voice and storyteller.

Henry Notroff (clarinet). Mr. Talent, Mr. Why didn’t we do it that way. Has this unbelievable ability to lose himself when playing.

Kerstin Kaernbach (violin). Has probably played with every country and Cajun band in Berlin, with a vast knowledge of folk music from around the world.

Kiki Sauer (accordion, harmonium, flute, vocals). The boss. The driving power behind everything, and at the same time writer of almost all lyrics.

Kruisko  (accordion). The man with the proper musical education. He played as the first accordion in an accordion orchestra of 20 members when he was a child. Always knows all the chords, and all the notes, and when asked to play one tune with his left hand in a 7/8 and another tune in 3/4 with his other hand he will.

Lüül (banjo, guitar). The elder statesman. Recorded his first stuff in 1968. Played with “Ashra Temple” in the 70s, dated Nico from Velvet Underground.

Rike Lau  (cello). German voice of STAR TREK’s councillor Diana Troy, lover of cats.

Uwe Langer (trombone, trumpet, euphonium). The performer and connoisseur. Studied trombone at East Berlin’s “Hans Eisler Institute”, he’ll go out of his way to find THE best place to get THE best food anywhere.
